cervical cancer treatment are available. The type that is chosen will depend on the type of
cervical cancer a person has. Some factors that may influence the cervical cancer treatment options include:
- The stage of the cancer
- The size of the tumor
- The patient's desire to have children
- The patient's age.
In general, cervical cancer treatment options can include:
Surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy can each be used as individual treatment or they can be used together as combination treatment.
- Stage 0 (carcinoma in situ)
- Stage I
- Stage II
- Stage III
- Stage IV
- Recurrent.
Stage 0 Cervical Cancer (Carcinoma in Situ) Treatment
Treatment of stage 0 cervical cancer may include:
- Loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP)
- Laser surgery
- Conization
- Cryosurgery
- Total hysterectomy (for women who cannot or do not want to have children)
- Internal radiation therapy (for women who cannot have surgery).
