Closed Caption - Vaginal Hysterectomy Risks -- Organ Damage

There are many organs inside your abdomen and pelvis. When you have surgery in your abdomen some other organs might get damaged. Some of the organs that might get hurt are your intestines, bladder, the tubes that carry your urine, your ovaries, fallopian tubes, or uterus.

If an organ does get hurt during surgery, your doctor will try to fix it. Most of the time these things are found during the surgery and can be fixed then. If a problem is not found until after the surgery, you might need another surgery to fix it.
